Constance (Connie) Hand Davis, aged 91, peacefully passed away on April 30, 2024, at Cox South Hospital. She was born on July 28, 1932 in the serene beach town of Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey to Robert and Kathryn (McMahon) Hand.
Fond of her coastal upbringing, Connie found joy in seascape art, sea birds, and treasured moments by the beach. Conniewas a proud graduate of Cape May High School. Her compassionate heart found purpose as she served as a pediatric nurse at Cornell Hospital in New York and in Phoenix, AZ. On June 6, 1955, Connie joined hands in marriage with Gene. Their union bloomed into over fifty-nine years of cherished togetherness.
Described as serious and practical, with a caring and compassionate nature. She was intellectual, woven with a humorous wit. A master at Scrabble and Fictionary and adevout woman of faith, Connie found solace at Valley View Bible Church in Phoenix, AZ, where she dedicated herself to mentoring, teaching, and taking care of the babies. She exuded a delightful sociability that touched everyone she encountered. Connie's presence radiated strength and she held the mantle of matriarch on both sides of her family. With unwavering resilience, she endeavored to stay long enough to embrace each grandchild and great-grandchild with boundless love.
Connie was a beloved Mom, Nana, and Nonnie. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Pamela Grant, Laurie Davis, Kathryn and husband Bryan Martin; eight grandchildren: Joshua, Nicholas, John Michael, Delaney, Elyssa, Sean, Seth and Shae; three great-grandchildren: Landon, Ayleen and Elsie; as well as one son-in-law Matt Davis along with numerous adored nieces and nephews.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Gene Davis; and two sisters: Barbara Corson and Nancy Dickson.
In the tapestry of life's journey, Connie Hand Davis's legacy shines brightly through her love-fueled actions and enduring impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory be an eternal source of comfort and inspiration to those whose lives she touched.
