Cleva Jacqueta Hawkins, age 89, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012. She was born July 27, 1922 in Hootontown, one of ten children of Albert Lesley and Lillie Bell (James) Hooton. On April 7, 1947, she and George Wesley Hawkins were united in marriage. She was saved at the age of 14, and was a member of Seminole Baptist Temple. Mrs. Hawkins enjoyed traveling and quilting. She was a member of the Women"�s Auxiliaries of VFW Post 3204, American Legion Post #69, Disabled American Veterans, and 12th Armored Division Association, World War II. Survivors include: Her husband, George; two sons and their wives, Guy and Jerri Hawkins, and Paul and Rosalee Hawkins, all of Springfield; three grandchildren, Jennifer Kiser and husband Charles, Celeste Dixon and husband Jeffrey, and Erin Hawkins; and eight great-grandchildren, Brittany, Cyle, Cole, Madison, Grace, Isaiah, Evelyn and Sophia. Her parents, four sisters, and five brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Don Baier officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery, south of Nixa. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Seminole Baptist Temple.
