Claude M. Bolin passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Nixa Nursing & Rehab with family by his side at the age of 96.
Claude was born November 19, 1920 in North Gallaway Township, Christian County, Missouri to Verna Bolin and Dorssie (McGinnis) Bolin.
On January 6, 1944, in Ozark, Claude and Maxine (Murray) were united in marriage. They were blessed with 71 years of marriage. To their union three children were born, Larry, Eugene (Gene), & Marsha.
Claude is survived by children Larry and wife Debra, of Rogersville, Eugene (Gene) and wife Phyllis, of Nixa, Marsha Downing and husband Darrell, of Highlandville. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Donham, Nixa, and brother, Roger (Betty) Bolin, Highlandville. Claude is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, 4 step great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, many other family members and special friends.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Robert S. Donham, great-granddaughter Hope Clemons and daughter-in-law, Tanna Bolin.
Claude was a World War II veteran serving his country as an Army Medical Technician 409. He made 7 overseas trips on ships to several destinations, caring for wounded soldiers.
Claude accepted Christ as his savior at a young age and was a member of Highlandville First Baptist. Claude loved gospel music and listening to gospel songs by all local groups. He loved to garden, can green beans and veggies with Mom. Claude worked hard all his life on his farm at Highlandville raising cattle and hogs. He also retired from Dayco Co. in Springfield. He was a loving husband, dad, brother, loving grandpa to all his grandchildren that he loved so very, very much. Most of all, he loved caring for Mom as her health failed, tending to her every need. He left his family with an amazing example of Godly love and caring. He will be lovingly missed by all his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Nixa Nursing & Rehab and Regional Hospice and their caring staff for the compassionate, loving and gentle care given Claude. May God richly bless and strengthen each one who provided care during our time of need.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 3, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Service will be Monday, September 4 at 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Rev. Travis Edwards and Rev. Les Day officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Highlandville Cemetery, Highlandville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Highlandville, MO.
