Clara House

Clara Bernice House of Highlandville, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012. She was born March 26, 1927, in Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of George Henry and Susie Marie Haas. Clara grew up in Walnut Shade, Missouri. In 1944 she and John William House were united in marriage, and they lived in California from that time until returning to Missouri in 1984. Clara was active in the church wherever they lived. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning. Camping with her family was a favorite activity. Survivors include: Two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Charles Philipian, Highlandville, and Bernice and Roger Cowdrey, Elsinore, California; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgetta Walker, Ponce de Leon. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2007, her parents and two sisters, Vernie Craig and Ada Alms. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 27, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Monday until service time.
