Claire Albert Biggs

Mr. Claire Albert Biggs was born on January 4, 1946, in Goodland, Kansas, to Virgil and Gertrude Biggs. He passed away on June 29, 2024.

Claire's roots were planted in the small town of Goodland, where he grew up helping in his father's mechanic shop. He graduated from St. Francis High School.

In 1970, Claire married Norma Lee Severance, the love of his life and his steadfast partner for over five decades. Their love story began with a twist: Claire fell in love with Norma and her daughter, Beth, capturing his heart and solidifying their bond as a family. Together, they shared a lifetime of adventures, joys, and a deep, abiding love.

Claire's love for travel was a constant theme throughout his life. He was always ready for the next adventure, whether it was a road trip across the country or a camping escapade with the "On The Lam Camping Club." His passion for exploring new places and meeting new people made him lifelong friends wherever he went.

As a proud member of the Lions Club, Claire served as president. He was also actively involved in multiple communities, from Nixa Christian Church to Val Vista in Casa Grande and Veranda Vistas in Springfield, Claire's presence was a beacon of helpfulness and trustworthiness.

Professionally, Claire retired as a project manager from Sodexo, but his role as the "project manager of everyone's life" continued well beyond his official duties. Whether it was helping a neighbor, organizing community events, or offering sage advice, Claire was the go-to person for guidance and support. His ability to juggle countless tasks with a reassuring word earned him a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy friend and mentor.

Claire is survived by his loving daughter Beth Voi, his grandchildren Jacob, Zachary and Grace, all of Nixa, MO, sister Ardith Vaughn (d. Jack), brother-in-law Orville Severance (Donna), sister-in-laws Rowe Ann Biggs, Norma Severance, and Ruth Severance.

Claire is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Norma, two brothers Darrell and John Biggs, brother-in-laws Earl Severance (Vi), Jim Severance, and Lyle Severance and sister-in-laws Aryls Peterson (George) and Lavonne Mathisen (Leroy).

Services will be officiated by Pastor Louie Lowe and held at Nixa Christian Church at a later time. Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
