Chris Curtis, age 40, of Nixa, passed away in his home, March 11, 2013. He was born to Jim and Joette (Robinson) Curtis, May 4, 1972, in Springfield. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Chris was studying to be a nurse. Chris loved to help people and worked with special needs children. His pride and joy is his son, James. Chris attended Union Hill Church of Christ in Nixa. He and Pastor Steve Martin are good friends, along with many others. Chris was taken too soon and will be missed dearly by his family and many friends. Chris is survived by: his son James, Jackie Arnold, James"� mother and Chris"� close friend; His parents, siblings James Curtis, and wife Shelly, of Ozark, Amanda Krick and husband Joey, Portland, TX; Aunts and uncles, Louise and Gary Metcalf, of Grove OK, Bill Gentsch of Phoenix, AZ, Charlut and Mike Shepherd, of Columbia, Karen and Tim Brammer, of Madison, grandfather James H. Curtis; Nieces, Jessica Curtis, Olivia, Emily, and Mattie Krick, and close friends, Edrie Stephens, who was like a grandmother to Chris, Rosie Laird and husband Dick, of Richland. Chris is also survived by his good friend P.J. and longtime friend, Shannon Bryant. Chris is preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Curtis, Aunt Roberta Gentsch, and Uncle Stephen Kilkenny. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Funeral services will be Friday, 10:00 A.M. March 15, 2013, at the funeral home, followed by burial at Rosedale Cemetery, Nixa. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
