Christine Gibson Merritt

Christine Gibson Merritt was born September 3, 1916 to George and Georgia Walker Gibson, and left this world on March 1, 2012. She was residing at the Jordan Creek Nursing Home in Springfield at the time of her death. She was married to E.N. "�Jack"� Merritt on October 12, 1935, and they enjoyed almost 66 years of marriage together before his passing in 2001. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sisters, Merle Jones, Mildred Watts, and Zelma Gann, a daughter-in-law Martha Ann Merritt, and an infant daughter. She is survived by her sons, Gary and wife Frances of Toccoa, GA, and Jack and his wife Wanda, of Republic, MO; four granddaughters, Melinda Nix (Mike), Mariann Holder (Eric), Jill Massey (Fred), Suzanne Beard (Rodney); one step-grandson Greg Addison (Debbie); and nine great-grandchildren. Christine loved her life with Jack and the world travels they enjoyed throughout his career in construction. She was quick to relate stories about both to anyone that would listen. She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church and had lived her faith from early childhood. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Jordan Creek Nursing Home and Access Hospice for the loving care they gave her in her final days. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Gideons for bibles. Funeral services will be at the Adams Funeral Home, in Ozark, MO. Visitation will be Monday, March 5, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM on Monday. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Sparta, MO.
