Chloe Eva Wolford

Chloe Eva Wolford, age 87 years, seven months, 14 days old, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, at Bradford Court Assisted Living, Nixa, Missouri with her family by her side.

Chloe was born on June 9, 1936, in Keltner, Missouri to James Earnest (Jim) and Jessie Cunningham Morrison. Chloe was raised in the community of Highlonesome in Western Douglas County.

She attended grade school in a one room school and then attended Ava High School and graduated in 1954.

In January 1957 she and John Wolford were united in marriage in Augusta, Kansas and together were blessed with two sons, Terry and Bryan.

Chloe graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Education and later received her master's degree at Drury University.  She began her teaching career in Nixa, Missouri and retired from the Nixa School District after teaching there for 25 years.

Chloe enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, shopping, music, whether playing, listening, or attending Branson shows, and church. Chloe was a Christian and was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church.

Chloe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Wolford in 2014; her siblings J.D. Morrison, Earnesteen Myers, Betty Satterfield, and Thelma Posey.

She is survived by her two sons; Terry and wife Brenda Wolford, Bryan and wife Lyn Brummel Wolford; five Grandchildren, Terianne Wolford Brown and husband Tyler, Taylor Wolford and wife Sara, Justin Wolford, Erin Evans and husband Ryan, and Andrew Wolford and wife Danielle; ten great grandchildren; one brother Larry and wife Doris, and sister-in-law Vonda Bains-Morrison; many nieces, nephews, blended grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. 

Family requests memorials to Hall Cemetery at Mound, Ava, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
