Cheryl Dene Richards, age 63 of Springfield, passed away on January 1, 2024. She was born March 5, 1960 in Mesa, Arizona, the daughter of Franzell “Smokey” and Jerry Jackson.

Cheryl's greatest love was her family. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, gardening and visiting casinos. South Dakota was her favorite place to travel. She loved the beauty of the mountains. Hall Pottery and glassware were some of her favorite collections from the antique stores. Cheryl had a passion for gardening and loved to grow tomatoes and had many flower beds. Purple Iris was her favorite flower.

Cheryl was an American Indian from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She graduated from Springfield Christian Schools in 1978. Cheryl received her Medical Technician Certificate in 1987 from a local business school. She was a member Temple Baptist Church in Marshfield and valued having a lifelong commitment to the Lord and her faith.

Survivors include: her lifelong partner Donald Richards of Springfield; two sons Dustin Richards of Marshfield, and Brandon and Alisha Richards of Marshfield; a daughter Stacy and Aaron Burdick of Springfield; six grandchildren, Alexus and Alivia, and Brantley, Brooklynn, Britney and Blake; two great grandchildren, Malaiyah and Magnolia; a sister Barbara Light and her spouse Bill Price; four brothers, Chuck and Dawn Light, Dale and Jenifer Jackson, Doug and Tonya Jackson, Tim and Amy Jackson.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her parents, “Smokey” and Jerry Jackson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Cremation will be entrusted to Adams Crematory.   A Memorial Service will be held at The Dickey House in Marshfield, Missouri, 1:00 p.m-3:00 p.m., January 20, 2024.  Check family Facebook for further details.
