Charles Viet Rees

Charles Viet “Charlie” Rees, age 86 of Springfield, passed away August 13, 2024. He was born October 29, 1937, the son of Viet Daniel and Frieda Esther Schwab Rees.

On June 23, 1957, Charles was united in marriage to Beverly “Arlene” (Lintecum) in Nickerson, Kansas. Arlene preceded Charles in death on February 1, 2023.

Charles was a graduate of Nickerson High School, Hutchinson Community College and the University of Kansas. He was a CPA at Baird, Kurtz and Dobson in Springfield, Missouri for 33 years. Charles was a member of the Nickerson Masonic Lodge, Nickerson, Kansas.

Survivors include: his children, Debbie Rogers and husband John of Plano, Texas and Carl Rees and wife Rebecca Lim of Boulder, Colorado; grandchildren, Austin Rogers of Dallas, Texas and Brandon Rogers and wife Lauren of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife, Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marilyn Rees Edwards.

A private family service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at McConnell Memorial Cemetery, Nixa, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Masonic funeral rites, and Pastor Dale Roller officiating.
