Charles Daniel Puffer, age 73, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was born April 19, 1941, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Charles and Dorothy Puffer. He grew up in Bradford, Illinois, and was a graduate of Bradford High School. Dan was selected to the Illinois 1959 All-State Football Team during his senior year. From 1963-1965 he served his country in the U.S Army. On January 14, 1967, he and Cheryl Hall were married in Chicago, Illinois. They have two sons.
During his lifetime, Dan worked 42 years for the Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific Railroads as a structural steel ironworker and general foreman. He retired in 2003.
Dan was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears football team. His hobbies of fishing and golfing kept him busy after retirement. He loved spending time on Table Rock Lake.
Survivors include: His wife of 47 years, Cheryl; two sons, Andrew Puffer and wife Amy, and Aaron Puffer; and his two grandchildren, Jamison and Maddison Puffer.
A memorial service will be 3:30 PM Saturday, May 24, at Cassidy United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlene Dart officiating. Military honors will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cassidy United Methodist Church.
