Charles L. Hardin, age 91 of Nixa, passed away October 10, 2021. He was born February 1, 1930 in Charleston, Mississippi, the son of Flossie and Rose (McGregor) Hardin.
Charles served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On September 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Peggy (Sturgeon.) Charles retired from City Utilities in Kennett, Missouri in 1993. He had a passion for music and loved playing his Fender guitar. He began playing at the age of three. Charles also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.
Charles was a member of First Assembly of God in Caruthersville, Missouri. Later when he and Peggy moved to Nixa, he attended First Assembly of God, Nixa.
Survivors include: his wife, Peggy (Sturgeon) Hardin of Nixa; a daughter, Shelley LaForge and husband Larry of Nixa; a granddaughter, Melissa Barnard and husband Rich of Nixa; a grandson, Aaron LaForge of Manchester, Connecticut; two great grandsons, Clay Barnard of Murray, Kentucky and Christian Barnard of Springfield, Missouri; and a sister, Eloise Allison of Destin, Florida.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Quinn; and a sister, Ruth.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, from 9-9:30 A.M. on Friday, October 15, 2021.
