Charles Louis Grove, age 96, of Ozark, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born August 10, 1920 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Charles and Gussie (Starbuck) Grove. Charles grew up in Oldfield. He served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. On November 4, 1944 he and Alice Sanborn were married. They lived in Waukesha, WI where Charles worked for Western Electric as a quality assurance inspector. They returned to this area and lived in Ozark following retirement. Alice passed away in 2006. Charles later married Carol Richardson who passed away in 2014.
Charles was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. He was faithful and had served as an elder. Charles was instrumental in founding the Ozark Senior Center, where he served as treasurer.
Survivors include: Three children and their spouses, David and Denise Grove of Waukesha, WI, Mary and Hal Wilson of Hartselle, AL, and Cindy and Joe Borbely of Franklin, TN; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Norman of Indianapolis; and a brother, Richard Grove and wife Bert of Oldfield.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice, his wife Carol, a daughter, Barbara Grove, infant son James, and sister, Josephine Roberts.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Oldfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Saturday until service time.
