Charles Gordon Elkins Sr., age 79, of Ozark passed away December 9, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South. He was born July 15, 1933 to David and Loutie (Hopkins) Elkins in Texarkana, Arkansas.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. On May 21, 1954 he married Inez Smith and to this union two sons were born. He retired from International Paper Company in Texarkana as a Shift Operator.
He was a proud family man. He loved all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, James, Bill, Gene, and Fincher; and two sisters, Ruth Ann Curtis and Virginia Jewel.
He is survived by his wife Inez of the home; two sons, Charles Gordon Elkins Jr. and his wife Kathie, and John Elkins; four grandsons, Chad and his wife Banita, Chase and his wife Amber, Adam and his wife Renee, and Travis; seven great-grandchildren, Belle, Anna, Russell, Jaron, Trey, Savanna & Samuel; a brother, Wayne Elkins; and two sisters, Helen Hughes and Dovie Dodson.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri.
