Carol Louise (Mason) Lawrence, age 79, of Nixa passed Sunday, August 2, 2015. She was born January 8, 1936 in Springfield to Odessa Mason and David Mastin.
She graduated from Marshfield High School, Burge School of Nursing, The University of Los Angeles, California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Public Health and School Nurse credential, and Missouri State University, formerly Southwest Missouri State University, with a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling.
Before her retirement from the U. S. Federal Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, in Springfield, she was a registered nurse at Veterans Administration Hospitals in Ohio, Kentucky and California. She was a volunteer at St. John's Hospital, Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a reading buddy for fifth graders. Her love for her family and humanity was never ending.
Carol was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, in Nixa.
Carol was preceded in death by Her Parents; her husband Braz Daniel Lawrence II; and a sister Wanda Cochran.
Carol is survived by her daughter Danetta Lynn Lawrence, of Nixa; her son B. Dan Lawrence III, and wife Lynn, of Nixa; a grandson B. Daniel Lawrence IV; great-grandsons Kale, Danny, and Noah; a great-granddaughter Kailee Lawrence of Nixa; a sister Pat Taylor, of Fishers, IN; a brother David Mason, and wife Kaye, of Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the memorial fund at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 460 W, Aldersgate Drive, Nixa, MO 65714.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Algersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa
Carol requested to be cremated and buried next to her husband at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield.
