Bruce Wade Greene

September 28, 1952 — November 16, 2024

Spokane, Missouri

Bruce Wade Greene, age 72, of Spokane, passed away on November 16, 2024. He was born on September 28, 1952 to Joe and Della Lee Greene in Campbell, Missouri. Bruce was married to Terry Greene (DuBois) for nearly 40 years; they were united in marriage at Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell, Missouri, on November 24, 1984.

Bruce attended Bernie High School and graduated in 1970. Bruce enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, reading science fiction novels, collecting pipes, and listening to classic rock. His favorite song being Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Bruce spent a majority of his life working on the family farm in Southeast Missouri.

A fun story recounted by Bruce's brother Phil, while stationed in Germany, Bruce went AWOL from the Army. During that time, he got to see and do a lot of cool things including hiking to the Matterhorn in the Alps. Not many Americans have seen the Matterhorn in person and it was something he was proud to say he did. He then fulfilled his military duties and was honorably discharged on April 25, 1978.

Bruce is survived by: his wife Terry; a daughter, Heather Daugherty (Stephen); two brothers, Kenny Greene and Phil Greene (Penni); one sister, Kathy Walker (Dell); two granddaughters, Allison Matthews (Hunter), and Cameron Daugherty, and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Della Lee.

He will be remembered for his love of the simple joys in life and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
