Brent Parnell

Brent Parnell, age 54, of Nixa passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020. He was born April 12, 1965 in Terre Haute, IN to Tom and Sidney (Greene) Parnell. Brent was raised in Carlsbad, CA. After high school, Brent went to work for Federal Signs. He was sent to Florida to do an apprenticeship in neon glass blowing. Brent was an accomplished sign maker and made the Super Bowl 30 Sign which was a 17 feet high neon sign. Brent was on of very few neon glass blowers to make that sign. He taught a class at the University of California San Diego in neon sign glass blowing even though he had no college degree. Brent enjoyed being out of doors. He enjoyed freshwater fishing for trout and bass. Brent later moved to Nixa and did mechanical and electrical work. He could do almost anything. Brent is survived by his mother, Sidney; fianc� Debra Densmore; a daughter Ashley Swanson, husband Kyle of Portland OR, a son Andrew Parnell of Rocklin, CA; a granddaughter River Swanson; brothers Kent Parnell, wife Noelle of Billings, and Jay Parnell of Oceanside, CA; and many relatives and friends. Brent is preceded in death by his father Thomas Parnell; and a sister Leigh Ann Parnell. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Pastor Gary Swearengin officiating. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospitals 2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607.
