Bonnie Ruth Rogers, 86 of Sparta passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in
Springfield.
Bonnie was born on December 1, 1934 at Keltner; the daughter of Lee and Nora (Nelson) Shortt.
On February 8,1951 she was united in marriage to Pletcher Rogers.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Pletcher; and 7 children, Dale Rogers and wife
Elaine of Hudson, Florida, Marc Rogers and wife Debbie of Harker Heights, Texas, Paula Weter and
husband Wayne of Nixa, Noel Rogers and wife Karen of Oldfield, David Rogers and wife Lisa of
Harker Heights, Texas, Ruth Ann Rogers of Sparta and Tom Rogers of Elkhead. She is also blessed
with an extended family of 25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a
host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings, a grandson Jerimiah Elden Rogers and a great
grandchild Steven Gene Leonowicz.
Bonnie retired from General Electric and then worked with Oxford Health Care for a number of
Years. Along the way Bonnie helped bring her children to Christ, enjoyed being involved in farming,
gardening, raising children and caring for those who needed any kind of assistance. She was an avid
reader, very good at sewing, making and repairing clothing for those close and enjoyed Sudoku. She
was always a great host of large family gatherings, a great cook and you missed out if you didn't have the
chance to try her famous homemade rolls She enjoyed traveling and was happy to return to live at the
'home place' in her retirement years.
Cremation Rites have been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held for Bonnie at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday. July 20, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark. Friends & relatives are invited to a Visitation with the family one hour prior to the service, from Noon-1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Following services, interment will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 3:00 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Bonnie may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Fair Haven Children’s Home.
