Bobby J Watts, age 82 of Nixa, departed this life to begin his heavenly journey with GOD on Thursday, June 9th, 2016, surrounded by his family.
Bobby was born January 3rd, 1934 in Abesville, MO, the son of Jake and Geraldine Watts. Bobby married Esther (Rantz) the love of his life May 10th, 1955. Bobby was of the Baptist faith.
Bobby loved his family and was lovingly called Grandad by his grandchildren. Bobby will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, children, grandchildren, brother, family and friends. Bobby lived a wonderful, fulfilling life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed in Berlin, Germany. He was a motorcycle policeman with the Springfield Police Department. He was one of the first employees for Dayco in Springfield. He was a Stone County Sheriff Deputy and a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He then went to barber school and owned a barber shop in Branson. He graduated from SMSU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts. He was a postal carrier, postal clerk and retired from the postal service.
Bobby had many hobbies throughout his life including: ham radio operator; airplane pilot, motorcycle riding, bowling and country dancing. He was a 50 year member of the Galena Masonic Lodge. He also loved cutting all of his grandsons hair from first to last haircuts and he took great pride in beautifying his home and surroundings. As he leaves us in body, he will forever be with us in spirit.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father Jake and mother Geraldine Watts.
Survivors include wife Esther Watts of Nixa; Bobby's three daughters, Linda & Terry Smith of Ozark; Cindy, and Dervid Allen of Abesville, Sandra Watts-Turbyeville of Ozark; grandchildren Terri Ann Smith of Alexandria, VA, Brandon Allen & Michelle of Ottawa, KS, Caleb Bobby Turbyeville, Clayne Wattson Turbyeville and Calbryne J Smith of Ozark; and a brother Jim & Sheryl Watts of Republic.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, MO from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Funeral service will be immediately following visitation at 1:00 pm. Graveside service and burial to follow inGalena, MO
