Bobby Joe McCarley

Bobby Joe McCarley, age 72, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 in his home. He was born February 21, 1940 in Baldwyn, Mississippi, the son of Robert and Pauline (Wingo) McCarley. On May 11, 1990 Bob married his wife, Sandra. Bob loved sports "� golf, football and especially basketball. While in high school he made the All-State Basketball Team in 1958. He also played for Ole Miss. Bob earned a Bachelor"�s Degree in education and later a Master"�s Degree in school counseling. He retired as a counselor for the Memphis City School District. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa. Survivors include: His wife, Sandra; a daughter, Dru Siskin and husband Milton, Memphis; two step-sons, Scott Diggs, Merriam, Kansas, and Jeff Diggs and wife Cathy, McPherson, Kansas; and seven grandchildren, Jordan, Trey, Katy, Thomas, Alaina, Lillia, and Elizabeth. A celebration of life service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa, with Pastor Phil Brucks officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or to the Parkinson Association.
