Bobby Massengale, age 67, of Nixa passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. He was born December 31, 1948 in Dimmit, TX to E. J. and Peggy (Jeffcoat) Massengale. Bob lived in Nixa most of his life. He was very involved in the community. Bob was a charter member of the Nixa Chamber of Commerce and a past board member. He was responsible for numerous businesses coming to Nixa; Walmart and Tractor Supply to name a few. Bob constructed numerous commercial developments. He was on the Board of Economic Development, Planning and Zoning and Board of Adjustments. Bob served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff under Buff Lamb. He loved to fish and hunt with friends and family, and went as often as he could. Bob was a people person. He felt if you were from Nixa, you were family. Bob would help anyone, and he didn't wait to be asked. Bob left his mark on Nixa. You can see his handy work anywhere you look. Bob was recently awarded the Nixa Extra Mile Award. His family says it was well deserved.
Bob is survived by his children Shannon Stewart, B. J. McConnell, Jason Massengale and Keshia Klosky; grandchildren Nick, Sarah, Loren, Hunter, Jack, Abbi, Isaac, Kaimee, Stetson, Babs, Opie, Aspen, Dalton, Mason, Kimber, Remington and Manley, Bo and Cole.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Wayne, Timmy, Mike; and a sister Becky. He is survived by his sisters Cathy Massengale, Darlene Jackson, and Cindy Massengale and brothers Steve Massengale and Tommy Massengale.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM; Saturday, October 15, 2016 at The Bridge Church in Nixa. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM following the visitation, with Roger Sutherland officiating. A private graveside service will follow the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bob Massengale Community Fund. Donations to the fund will be accepted at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
