Robert Saul "Bob" Maketansky, 77, a retired Home Inspector, passed away on September 3, 2018, at home after a lengthy illness. He resided in Rockaway Beach, MO with his caregiver, Jennifer C. Cooke after moving from Truth or Consequences, NM.
He attended Asbury Park High School and also completed 2 years of night school classes, earning his Journeyman License and Master Plumbers License. Maketansky served in the Navy in 1959.
Maketansky was a plumber for 37 years. He worked at Taylor Rental Center in Plano, TX and afterwards worked at transporting Boats and RV's. He won various awards while being an auto salesman in Nevada before starting his own home inspection business in Truth or Consequences, NM.
Maketansky was of the Jewish Faith and attended Hebrew School in Belmar, NJ. He enjoyed crabbing in Homosassa, FL and taking his boat out for Gropper fishing.
Born in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Aaron and Kay Maketansky.
Besides Jennifer C. Cooke, he is survived by two sons, Zack and Adam, California; a daughter, Julie Ann, Overland Park, KS; two granddaughters, Katherine and Brooke, Overland Park, KS; a brother, Michael Maketansky, Jacksonville Beach, FL; four stepsons and a stepdaughter.
At his request, cremation will take place and internment will be at a later date, at family's request.
