Robert "Bob"� Diekhoff, age 82 of Nixa, passed away August 6, 2013. He was born June 7, 1931 in Fontana, California, the son of Follie and Eunice (Phelps) Diekhoff.
On July 26, 1947 Bob was baptized. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He moved to Chicago in 1953 and married Harriet E. Ladage on September 3, 1955. To this union four children were born. He worked as a mechanical engineer in the private sector until his retirement. Bob served on the school board and was very involved in the Lutheran school and church. Harriet preceded Bob in death on February 14, 2000.
On June 24, 2006, Bob was united in marriage to Katie L. (Wolfe) Mabe. He was a well-loved member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Katie Diekhoff of Nixa, his four children, Karen Schaller and husband Michael of Springfield, Paul Diekhoff of St. Louis, Philip Diekhoff of Springfield and Diana Frost and husband Jim of Eureka; six grandchildren, Stephanie Pendergrass and husband Matt, Kimberly Schaller, and Jacob, Nicholas, Bethany and Lydia Frost; and a great grandchild, Tyler Pendergrass.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Diekhoff and a great grandchild, Nate.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastors Hosea Bilyeu and Duane Maas officiating. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
