Bob Bailey

November 16, 1952 — February 6, 2024

Nixa

Bob Bailey, age 71 of  Nixa, passed away on February 6, 2024.  He was born November 16, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Wilbert and Clara (Smugala) Bailey.  He was united in marriage to his wife Carla July 17, 1976.

Carla met Bob March 17, 1974 as he drove his 1968 GTO, after finishing school she got married to Bob and had Robert in Springfield and moved to Chicago and had Steven.  Those boys were his world.  Then  in 1997 he started having his beautiful grand kids that melted his heart. Family meant the world to him and he worked to make everyone as happy as he could.  No man will ever be as proud as he was.  He is so happy the Bailey family name will live on.

Bob's greatest love was his family.  He was a true family man that designed his home and backyard for great family gatherings.  Family BBQs, pool parties and a good game of corn hole made the times together special. He loved playing card games with his family and the grand kids loved playing Indian Poker with him.

Bob was known for his special saying “Boo-Ya” and was expressed every time he had a joyful moment in his life.  He was noted for being a family prankster and jokester.  It was all in good fun and made for great memories with him.  He also loved fishing at Table Rock Lake for Bass,  took his family to a St. Louis Cardinals game every year, and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, all with his dog BoBo by his side.

Bob was the hardest working man you will ever meet.  He worked in the trucking business for forty years and was very dedicated to his work. He was also a man with a great heart,  a servant and caretaker to anyone that was in need.

Survivors include: his loving wife Carla Bailey; two sons, Robert and wife Angie Hernandez and Steven Bailey; a brother Mike Bailey; three sisters, Bunnie Case, Carol Woesthaus, and Brenda Autrey; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bob was also very close to his nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Bill Bailey.
