Billie June Wood, age 86, of Ozark, passed away in her home Wednesday, November 22, 2017. She was born June 10, 1931 in Christian County, the daughter of Ezra and Frances Jewell (Cupp) Bostic. On December 22, 1947 she and Donald Ray Wood were married.
Throughout her working career Billie worked at Royal-McBee, retired from General Electric, and operated her own beauty salon in her home. She enjoyed embroidery and making quilts for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 1994. Also preceding her in death were two children, Connie Sue Thompson and Danny Ray Wood, a brother, Earl Bostic, and her parents.
She is survived by a son, Roy Steven Wood of Ozark; grandchildren, Jeremiah Clinton Wood and wife Stacy of Ozark, Travis Daniel Wood and wife Paula of Ozark, and Elijah Daniel Wood of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Ryan Wood, Aime Wood, Noah Wood, Chelsea Wood and David Wood; two sisters, LeEtta Swords, and Jewell Bryant, both of Phoenix, Arizona; and a brother Elmer Bostic of Downey, California.
A graveside memorial service will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 4, at Weaver Cemetery, Ozark. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
