Bill M. Medley, age 72, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Cox Medical Center South. He was born September 29, 1939, in Marshall, Arkansas, the son of Cecil and Edith (Sherrill) Medley. Bill graduated from Marshall High School in 1957 and received a Bachelor"�s Degree from Arkansas Tech. In 1965 he earned a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. Bill started his career in education by teaching in Farmington and Fayetteville High Schools. He was Principal at Yellville School and served as Superintendent for Leslie and Bruno-Pyatt schools. He ended his career as Special Education Coordinator for the O.U.R. Coop. Following retirement Bill kept busy with multiple careers including working for Cox South for almost 20 years. He also volunteered at the YMCA, Cox, and for his church. Bill was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include: His wife, Barbara; a son, Bruce Medley and wife, Syma, Lead Hill, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Bo Medley, Heather Medley and Chris Rockert; a brother, Sam Medley, Harrison; and a sister, Linda Polk, Littleton , Colorado. He was preceded in death by Gloria (Tillman) Manley Medley, and his parents. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, June 8, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM in the funeral home, with Rev. Bruce Baxter and Rev. Bruce Medley officiating. A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, June 9, at the Milam Cemetery, Lead Hill, Arkansas. A reception will follow at Lead Hill Christian Church.
