Betty Louise Wilcox

October 8, 1927 — January 31, 2022

Betty Louise Wilcox, daughter of the late Gusdavis “Gus” and Lelia May (Hunt) Sutton, was born on October 8, 1927 in Independence Kansas and passed away on January 31, 2022 in Chico, CA.at the age of 94. Betty's heart was stolen by a handsome young soldier named Roy Lee Wilcox. She married him on March 3, 1946  and went on to have and raise 3 beautiful daughters in Ontario CA. Betty is now laid to rest, side by side, to Roy, in the Jones Chastain cemetery in Nixa, Missouri.

 

She is survived, loved and already missed by her three daughters: LaDonna (Donna) Joyner and her husband Greg, Virginia (Ginger) Parker and Kathleen (Kathie) Gilmore. She also sadly will be missed by her 10 grandchildren and her 14 great grandchildren whom she held dear to her heart.

 

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death, and now reunited with her two brothers: James "Jim" Sutton and Theron “Bud” Sutton; seven sisters: Leona Hoover, Frances Williams, Phyllis Schutt, Pat Lipinski, Ruby Reed, Dorothy (Dot) Turner and Joyce Sisney. Also several nieces and nephews in the Sutton family, all of whom she loved so dearly.


She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for over 55 years and had held several different callings in the Church. She said she always found peace living the Gospel. "God Be With You Til' We Meet Again."

 

Betty was laid to rest next to her husband on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
