Betty Swadley

Betty Louise Swadley, age 97 of Ozark, passed away February 23, 2025. She was born April 16, 1927 in Galloway, Missouri, the daughter of J. L. “Toad” Richardson Laura Mae (Boyd) Richardson. 

On October 20, 1943, Betty was united in marriage to Johnny Jacob (Jay) Swadley. 

Survivors include: a daughter, Judy Whitaker of Highlandville; a brother, Vernon Richardson of Washington; grandchildren, Sheila and Jeremy Gray and Johnny and Megan Whitaker; great grandchildren, Riley Massey, Trenton and Haleigh Massey, Paizlea Whitaker, Aiden Whitaker, and Johnny Whitaker, Jr.; and a great great granddaughter, Kynder Massey. 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sisters, Georgia, Juanita and Alma. 

Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. 

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Union Grove Cemetery, Ava, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Jason Loveland officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
