Betty Luvon Payne, age 73, of Sparta, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was born July 25, 1938, in Reeds Spring, the daughter of Lester Franklin and Hilda Pauline (Jackson) Gideon. On September 22, 1954, she and Floyd Olen Payne were united in marriage. Betty was a member of First Oldfield Full Gospel Church. Betty was an artist that loved to paint and enjoyed the beauty of the Master"�s garden. She enjoyed sewing and baking. Betty truly loved her family and friends and was loved in return. She will be greatly missed. She left everyone she touched in life with wonderful memories. Survivors include: Her husband, Floyd; a daughter, Deborah Frost and husband Spurgeon, and son David Payne, all of Sparta; grandchildren, Joey Day of Ozark, Jill Jackson and Julie Henry and husband Jeff, all of Sparta, Rusty Payne and Alison Payne, both of Ozark; great-grandchildren, Kelby Humble and Karli Henry; brothers, Robert Gideon and wife Bessie, and Ron Gideon; a sister Kathleen Gilbert; sisters-in-law, Janet Payne, Joan Payne, Mickey Gideon and Janie Gideon; a brother-in-law, Don Payne; other relatives; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dean, Eldon and Jerry Gideon, and a sister, Mona Shipman. The family would like to thank Access Hospice and Marguerite, Kathy, Megan, Renee, Kevin, and Carla for the loving care given to Betty during her illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 3, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Ben DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday.
