Betty Lou Moore

Ozark

     Betty Lou Moore, age 93 of Ozark, passed away May 21, 2024. She was born April 11, 1931 on the family farm in Webster County, Missouri. Betty was the daughter of Charles and Essie (Bledsoe) Johnston. She attended the Amity one-room school, and graduated from Niangua High School in 1949. Betty moved to Springfield and attended Draughon Business College where she was a member of Alpha Iota Sorority.

     On December 29, 1950, she and Jack Fay Moore were united in marriage. They shared almost 65 years together before Jack's passing in 2015. They lived on the family farm where Jack's parents lived. Betty was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ.

     Betty was a stay at home mom who loved and adored her children. She was a great example of what family was all about.

     Survivors include: her children, Deborah and Michael Mills of Nixa, and Marilyn and Brad Simpson of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Kevin Moore and Lorna, Samantha Vaughn and Matt, Scott Moore and Gretchen, Jeffrey Mills and Kelly, and Andrew Mills and Kristen, Whitney Simpson, Shane Simpson and Brittany, Jacob Simpson and Samantha, Jaclyn Miner and Adam; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Isaac, Wyatt, Madilyn, Megan, Abigail, Ben, Lucy, Jackson, Allison, Alexis, and Jack; nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

     In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her son and daughter in law, Thomas and Mary Moore; her brother, Harold; and her sister, Kathryn.

     The family would like to thank the staff of NorthPark Village for their wonderful care of Betty for the past five years.

     A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Union Hill Church of Christ in Nixa, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery, Nixa. Visitation will be from 9:30--11 a.m. immediately before the funeral at the church.
