Betty Lou Melton, age 85 of Highlandville, died December 8, 2020. She was born November 17, 1935 in Spokane, the daughter of Harve and Opal (Magers) Melton.
Betty was a collector of genealogy, keeping family albums and was an avid scrapbooker. She helped out around the family farm, and enjoyed quilting. Betty was also a lifelong member of the Spokane First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her brother Joe Melton and wife Inna of Highlandville; sisters-in-law, Ella Melton Cameron of Springfield and Madeline Melton of Quitman, Arkansas; her nieces and nephews, Angela Stewart and husband Chris of Ozark, Wesley Melton and wife Melissa of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Andrea Bottiglieri and husband Craig of San Antonio, Texas, Justin Melton of Highlandville, Harvey Melton of Springfield, Suzy Bench of Springfield, Billy Melton of Gardner, Kansas and Sandy DeWitt of Gardner, Kansas; and a slew of great nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill, Rex, Larry and Dennis Melton; and a niece, Donna Folsom.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Randall Harwood officiating. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. immediately before the funeral in the funeral home.
