Betty Louise (Bolch) Barton, age 84, of Nixa, died on November 5, 2013, with family by her side. Betty Louise Bolch was born March 6, 1929, in Decatur, AR, to Henry Clay Bolch and Sarah Elizabeth (Boren) Bolch.
Betty graduated from Decatur High School in 1937 and was married later that year to Hubert M. Barton also of Decatur. Betty started college at Henderson Teachers College in Arkadelphia, AR, and completed her degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Betty taught school for 29 years in all grades, 1st through 6th, in many schools systems in Arkansas and Missouri. Her passion was teaching remedial reading. Betty also taught Sunday school and had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Nixa.
Betty"�s teaching carrier was cut shorter than she would have preferred because of being diagnosed with Lupus, but in retirement loved to make crafts and attend craft shows. Betty was known by family and friends as a kind and loving person, always trying to help others.
Betty is survived by: A sister-in-law Deane Barton of Tulsa, OK; Sons and their wives, Bruce and Mary Ann Barton of Farmington, AR, and Brent and Kim Barton of Nixa, MO. In addition grandchildren include Carl and Rachael Barton, Jason Barton and Kristen Silva, Lisa and James Antwiller, Kelsey and Pehr Robinson, Priscilla and Ben Bloom, Justin and Lynsey Letterman, and Aron Letterman, and great-grandchildren Austin and Leih Antweiler, Noah and Micaiah Barton, Ellianna Barton and Roslyn, and Nathan Letterman. Betty is also survived by many nephews and nieces from both the Bolch and Barton sides of the family;
Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hubert, her parents Henry and Elizabeth, eight siblings Eva, Harlan, Mae, Raymond, Bernice, Dorothy, Leon, and Margie.
Funeral Services for Betty will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Nixa. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2013, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be at 4:00 P.M. Saturday November 9, 2013, at Decater Cemetery, In Decater, AR.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the 1st Baptist Church of Nixa in her honor.
