Bettie Anne King, age 87, of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012. She was born July 27, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Archie Vern and Anna Elizabeth (Forsythe) Grady. On December 22, 1944, she and Lester David King were united in marriage. Mrs. King lived in Essex, Iowa, before moving to this area in 1970. She had lived in Ozark since 1981. For twenty-five years, she and Lester owned and operated a printing and newspaper shop in Essex. She later worked for the News-Leader as a lino type operator. Bettie held a pilot"�s license, and also enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing and knitting. She attended Cassity United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Her husband, Lester; two sons and their wives, David and Debra King of Denver, Colorado, and Don and Diana King of Quincy, Illinois; four grandchildren, Bryce King, Meshara Gilbert, Kyle King, and Amanda King; and seven great-grandchildren, Kylie, Tara, Hudson, Kala, Logan, Kyle and Bryson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Elizabeth, and her father and step-mother, Archie and Dorothy Violet King.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Gary Langley officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
