Bette Martin

Bette Lou Martin, age 90, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018. She was born May 8, 1928 in Rader, MO, the daughter of L.A. and Edith (Guinn) Davis. On August 21, 1944 she and Clarence W. Martin were married. Bette and Clarence owned The Clock Shop on South Pickwick for 10 years. They collected clocks and Bette enjoyed antiquing. She was a member of The O.E.S. in Springfield and later in Willard where she served as Worthy Matron. She attended Willard Methodist Church. Bette foremost loved her family. When her children were young, she was very involved in their school activities including PTA. As a homemaker Betty was a wonderful cook and kept a spotless home. She loved and was proud of all her grandchildren. Survivors include: Three children, Cindy Farmer and husband Andy of Willard, Mike Martin of Springfield, and John Martin of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren Amy Farmer Westermann and husband Will of St. Peters, MO, and their children Andrew Westermann and fianc�e Ashley, and Katie Boyer and husband Kevin, grandson Matt Farmer and wife Autumn of Springfield and their daughter Telyse Masaoay, grandson Drew Farmer and wife Katy of Manchester, England and their son Finlay Farmer, grandson Adam Martin of Springfield and his son Zander Martin, and grandson Paul Martin of Seattle, WA; a sister, Fran Hood and husband Jack of Springfield; and a host of nieces and nephews. Bette was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in 2009, two sisters, Leota Snider and Dorothy Deluca, and her parents. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
