Bette Ruth Leslie, born on February 28, 1943, to Freddie and Tennie Williams in Galva, Kansas, passed from this life on June 28, 2024. Bette was the epitome of charm, grace, and Southern hospitality, effortlessly embodying the role of a true Southern belle throughout her life.

Bette's story is one of love and laughter. She spent 56 wonderful years married to her beloved husband, Bob Leslie, sharing adventures that took them on 18 cruises across the globe. They explored the world by sea, even though Bette couldn't swim. She faced each journey with an infectious enthusiasm, preferring to enjoy the ocean from the deck rather than diving in.

A woman of boundless generosity and warmth, Bette's home was a sanctuary of love and laughter. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel like family, earning her the title of "neighborhood mom" to many. Her gift of hospitality was unmatched; she could whip up a feast from seemingly nothing and always had a smile and a comforting word for everyone who crossed her threshold.

Bette had a green thumb and a love for the outdoors. Her garden was a vibrant tapestry of flowers, a living testament to her care and dedication. She even took on the formidable task of building a privacy fence by herself, proving that determination and a can-do attitude could accomplish anything. Her yard was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and joy.

Her fondness for dogs was legendary. Throughout her life, she was the proud companion to four dogs, three of whom were named Brandy. It was an inside joke within the family, a nod to Bette's unique and loving approach to life. Her pets were as much a part of her family as anyone else, and she cherished their companionship.

Bette is survived by her husband Bob, sons Robert Leslie (Nicole), Mike Kennedy (JD), and Chris Leslie (Cynthia), grandchildren Briawna Leslie, HanaH Leslie, Elijah Leslie, and Jennifer Leslie, and great-grandchildren Sophia Piekarski and Logan Piekarski.

Bette is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Susie Leslie.
