Bessie Sue Serdahl

Bessie Sue Serdahl, 93, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on January 17, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1931, in Mason City, Iowa, to Allan and Rose Bull.

Bessie graduated from Mason City High School, where she spent many happy hours roller skating and building friendships. She had a warm and outgoing personality that made it easy for her to connect with others, a trait she carried throughout her life.

Bessie shared 64 wonderful years of marriage to her husband Donald Serdahl until his passing in 2013. They enjoyed square dancing, traveling across the country in Papa's Little House, and spending time at Branson Jellystone Park, one of their favorite destinations. They also loved playing cards and dining out with their many friends.

Bessie had a love of cooking, entertaining, and collecting. She took great joy in welcoming people into her home and sharing her talents in the kitchen. Family was at the center of her life, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories together.

A member of the Lutheran Church, Bessie’s faith was an important part of her life. Her kindness, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Bessie is survived by: her daughter, Debra Hinkle; three grandchildren, Ben Serdahl, Kami (Bryon) Oster, Evan Fenske; three greatgrandkids, Eli Oster, Theo Oster, and Mason Serdahl

Bessie is preceded in death by: her parents, a husband, Donald Serdahl; a son, Rick Serdahl; a grandson, Shane Serdahl; a granddaughter, Lyndi Hinkle; and a sister, Nancy Utter.
