Bertha Deane Carter

Bertha Deane Carter, age 90, of Nixa passed away Friday, February 3, 2017. She was born April 14, 1926 in Missouri City to Charles and Lennie (Bolin) Ellerman. Deane was united in marriage to Charles Ellis Carter July 6, 1962. She was a factory worker for many years and worked at Zenith. Deane loved to sew, quilt, and paint. Deane and Ellis enjoyed going to Camp Blue Bird, and travel in their camper. She attended Calvary Baptist Church, Nixa. Deane was a loving person and giving to a fault. Deane is survived by: Her children, Henry Shupe of Springfield, and Debbie Jackson and husband Richard of Nixa; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Deane is preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Ellis Carter; and 8 siblings. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, February 6, 2017 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday February 7, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery, Nixa.
