Berta Nall

Berta Leonard Nall, age 90, of Nixa passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born November 1, 1928 in Vancouver, Washington to Lawrence and Effie (Gibbons) Leonard. Berta was a resident of Nixa during the most recent 10 years of her life. Previously Berta had lived in Southern California since 1952 when she married Kenneth L Nall who was a native Californian. Berta and Kenneth met in Portland Oregon where he was a dance instructor and she was a student. After they married and moved to California she and Ken had two daughters, Nancy and Janette. Berta was a homemaker during her children's early years. She found her work passion as a church secretary and bookkeeper for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Garden Grove, California, then Trinity Baptist Church in Westminster, California and then Bethany Bible Fellowship also in Westminster where she worked until her move to Missouri in 2009. Berta had an adventurous spirit and loved cats all her life. Berta was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling and trying new recipes. Berta also loved plants of all kinds especially her beloved orchids. She was always an active member of her church and was a member of Nixa Church of the Nazarene. Berta is survived by her daughters Nancy Nall Gasperik and her husband Douglas, and Janette Nall Stearns and her husband Kevin; and granddaughter Gracia Stearns. A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home. Berta will be reunited with Kenneth at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, California as her final resting place.
