Benjamin Thomas Caffee was born in Fairfield, California on August 1, 1964, to Kathleen Doyle Caffee and Shelby Walker Caffee. Ben had two younger siblings, Franklin and Rose Caffee and the three of them had a close relationship.
Ben was a vivacious person, in spite of being born with one kidney, (discovered years later) and having diabetes...and was in and out of hospitals many times.
Ben loved music and was caught calling Julie Andrew (California to New York) when the phone bill came! He loved Christmas and would play Christmas music all year round.
Ben moved to Nixa, Missouri with his aunt Patricia Doyle-Emo, his uncle Michael Doyle, and his cousin Eric Emo in November 2018. Ben enjoyed our home, his dog, and his new friends at Restoring Hope. He especially enjoyed riding the bus to his program, singing with Jerry, the bus driver, and checking out the new construction in Nixa.
After another surgery a year ago, Ben became weaker and was moved to James River Convalescent home in Springfield, Missouri. He had many friends and caused many laughs. Ben liked St. Francis of Assisi in Nixa, Missouri. A memorial mass will be celebrated this summer when the church is remodeled.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of James River Convalescent Home, Jerry, and everyone else who were so helpful and kind to Ben.
Benjamin is survived by Frank and Rose Caffee, Patricia, Eric and Gene Emo.
Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri, and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
