Barbara Kay Sexton, age 68, of Ozark, passed away suddenly, Monday, July 8, 2013, in her home. She was born February 16, 1945, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Leon and Nyanzia (Welch) Garner. Barbara graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and honored her school as State Baton Champion. She also graduated from Beauty School. On April 18, 1964, she and Terrence Hushal Sexton were united in marriage at the Christian Church in Miller. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church, Ozark. She also belonged to the Cosmopolitan Club of Ozark. Barbara participated in the American Cancer Relay for Life as a 13 year breast cancer survivor. She held various sales positions, her last employment being at The Little Red Wagon in Ozark. Survivors include: Her husband Terry; her daughter Rena Christine Tella and husband David of Ozark; a granddaughter, Alexis Faith Tella; her mother Nyanzia Garner of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Roy Garner and wife Dee of Springfield; a sister, Brenda Lawmaster and husband Jimmy, Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law, Tacy Cox; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Garner, and her parents-in-law, Dixie and Hushal Sexton. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 12 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Troy Rhoden and Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Friday until service time. Memorial donations may be made in Barbara"�s name to the First Baptist Church of Ozark Building Fund or Transportation Fund.
