Aurelio "Mark" Marquez

Aurelio “Mark” Marquez, 95, Springfield, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

He was born July 27, 1929, in Tolleson, Arizona, the son of the late Espiridion Marquez and Elvira (Herrera) Marquez. He was one of twelve siblings. Two surviving, brother Manuel Marquez, Sacramento, California; and sister Vicki St. Claire, Gonzales, California.

Mark attended and graduated from Gonzales High School, Gonzales, California, he continued his education at Hartnell College, Salinas, California, graduating with an associate degree. After college he served in the United States Army from May 1949, until May 1952, spending time in Korea with the 7th Ordnance MM Company. He earned the Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was able to attend the Honor Flight of the Ozarks to Washington, DC, May 16, 2018.

He was united in marriage on April 21, 1976, to Beverly A. Goodspeed, in Salinas, California, where they resided until 1981, when they relocated to Yuba City, California.

Mark held several different positions with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and retired after serving over 35 years, from his position in Marysville, California.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly, Springfield, Missouri; son Jeffery Marquez and wife Gretchen, Castle Rock, Colorado; daughter Melody Conner and husband William, Nixa, Missouri; daughter Wendy Lockhart and husband Stephen, Yuba City, California; daughter Kathryn Clearwater of California. Several grand-children, great grand-children, and many nieces and nephews, along with other family members who will all miss him greatly.

There will be a graveside service held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
