Arthur Frank Van Essen, age 72, of Nixa, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015. He was born June 22, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Arthur and Esther (Voorwerk) Van Essen.
He lived in Tujunga, California for many years working as an Electronics Research Engineer for Lockheed Martin before retirement. Arthur enjoyed collecting and taking road trips on his motorcycles. He was a Ham Radio advocate. Arthur could fix just about anything and collected old tractors, and hit and miss engines.
Survivors include: two children, Michael Van Essen and wife Amy of Ozark, and Christine Robertson and husband Paul of Nixa; four grandchildren, Sommer Van Essen, Brooklynn Vanessen, Claire Robertson and Olivia Robertson; and his life partner, Judy Schellenberg.
A celebration of Arthur's life will be held Saturday, November 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be at a later date in Manley Cemetery, Battlefield.
