Arnold Evans “Papa” Fletcher, age 81 of Nixa, passed away September 19, 2021. He was born February 6, 1940 in Manes, Missouri, the son of Normace and Agnes (Evans) Fletcher.
Arnold was saved at a young age at Manes Baptist Church.
Arnold served his country in the U.S. Army. On May 14, 1966, he was united in marriage to Jewell (Stanifer.)
Arnold attended Southwest Baptist University. Arnold served as pastor for many years and served in many roles throughout his ministry.
Survivors include: his wife, Jewell Fletcher of Nixa; his daughter, Amanda Evans of Springfield; grandchildren, Christopher Spivey and wife Dee of Sikeston, Corey Spivey of Springfield, Zoe Schrock of Springfield, Zack Schrock of Ozark and Shelbee Schrock of Springfield; great grandchildren, Eden Spivey, Ember Spivey and Kingston Cuevas; a brother, Ed Fletcher and wife Young of Manes; Jim Fletcher and wife Teresa of Texas, and Paul Fletcher; and a sister, Ruth Cooper and husband Bob of Mt. Grove.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Samuel Schrock and a brother, Doug Fletcher.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Grace Church, 1120 E. Plainview Road, Springfield, with Pastor Tim May officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:00 A.M. at Grace Church on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Services and arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
