Louise Moore

On Sunday, December 5, 2021, Ardis “Louise” Stewart Moore, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 86.

Louise was born on April 7, 1935 in Galena, MO to Maynard “Firpo” and Ardis Stewart. She graduated from Galena High School in 1953 and married Winfield Moore soon afterward on May 29, 1953 in Harrison, AR. Together they raised three children: Teresa, Brenda, and Scott.

Winfield and Louise started their marriage with humble beginnings but worked hard to support each other and their growing family. As a mother, she created a loving home for her children. She was always present at their school and community activities, the first to volunteer her time and talents to support her children.

Louise was a skilled seamstress and homemaker. Her hands were always moving. If she wasn’t cooking, she was sewing or creating a cake for her next grandchild’s birthday.
Louise never stepped back from an opportunity to challenge her skills and creativity. When her daughter, Teresa, started selling her painted pottery at Silver Dollar City, Louise began painting and worked alongside her daughter for six years. She also ran a successful alterations business and made beautiful creations for her family including her daughters’ wedding dresses, knitted blankets, and embroidered tea towels.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; two brothers, Howard “Gene” and Maynard Stewart; and one sister, Norma Stewart Jones. She leaves behind a loving husband, Winfield Lowell Moore; three children and their spouses, Teresa and Lea Flatness, Brenda and Randy Bowling, and Scott and Kathy Moore; Seven grandchildren, Brandi Bowling, Stewart Flatness, Kyle Bowling, Berea Flatness Moss and spouse Philip Moss, Lanae Flatness, Clayton Moore, and Addison Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Louise and Winfield’s home church, Parkview Christian Church in Springfield, MO.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1pm on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home Nixa. Visitation will be from 6-7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Galena Cemetery in Galena, MO.
