Anita Bernice (Foster) Holsteen, age 82, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 in her home in home in Marshfield. She was born March 25, 1942. She met and married Donald Holsteen December 8, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Anita and Donald moved to Sacramento, CA, in 1972, and later Honolulu, Hawaii. Donald worked for the Lutheran church and Anita worked as a book keeper at the Regal Book Company. They retired in 2004 and moved to Independence, Missouri. Anita was a book keeper for many years and was one of the best in the business. Anita was an excellent cook. She taught all of her grandchildren how to cook. Holidays and special occasions were always exceptional with Anita's cooking. Anita was very talented in ceramics, scrap booking, and other crafts. She was always helping the grandchildren with school art projects. She enjoyed reading, and going to shows in Lake Tahoe, California.
Anita had an endearing personality. She was kind and never angry. Anita was very loving and understanding. She could talk to anyone and in a short time had a new friend. People were drawn to her. She loved her family most of all.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, of 57 years; brothers Dale Foster and Allen Foster; and a great-granddaughter Serenity Gorham.
Survivors include her son Heath Holsteen (Katherine) of Marshfield; grandchildren Nathan Holsteen (Amber) of Kingston, TX, Christopher Holsteen (Mary) of Marshfield, Brandon Holsteen (Jessica) of Fair Grove, and granddaughter Rachelle Clifford (Ray) of Independence; ten great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark and cremation rites are accorded by Adams Crematory.
