Alvin L. Peanick

December 21, 1928 — December 28, 2015

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather Alvin Lou Peanick, 87, of Ozark, Mo., passed away on Dec. 28, 2015. Born to William and Esther Peanick on Dec. 21, 1928. Al attended schools in St. Louis County and graduated from trade school to start his own heating and air conditioning business. He also owned and farmed 185 acres in Gasconade County, Mo. In his spare time, Al played guitar and was the lead singer in the Good Time Country band, even making a demo record in Nashville. A dedicated family man, his other hobbies included fishing and gardening. Al was famous for his beautiful roses, which he freely gave to friends and family alike. Al married the love of his life, Rosa Lee (Presley) Peanick, on June 12, 1948, in St. Louis. They enjoyed 67 years wonderful years together, raising their family of three children, camping and fishing with Al's eight brothers and sisters at the Black River, and running their farm and business. Poor health forced him to retire in 1998, and they moved to Ozark, Mo. They made many friends in their neighborhood and while playing music at the Nixa Senior Center. Al and Rosa Lee were always there to help their neighbors, fix a broken bike and share homemade cookies and bread. Al is survived by his loving wife Rosa Lee; daughter Cathy (Lonnie) Quinn; grandchildren Ian (Mandy) Quinn and Erin (Ray) Quinn-Kong; long-awaited and adored great-granddaughters Zoe Malala Quinn and McKenna Rose Kong; sisters Diane (Wayne) Rambaud and Mary Mertz; sister-in-law Jane Peanick; and many nieces and nephews and their children. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home at 504 W. Walnut, Ozark, Mo. A memorial service will follow at noon. A special thank you to the loving staff and residents of Riverview Residential Place.
