Alta Mae Pickett, age 88, of Oldfield, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013. She was born February 14, 1925, in Shiloh, Tennessee, one of eight children born to Frank and Alice Rebecca (Whittaker) Moffett. Alta married Joe Aca Taylor and together they had five children. Following his death she married Clarence Joseph Plumlee and four children were born to their marriage. After his death she married John Antonio Pickett and together they had two children. Alta was a loving and hardworking wife and mother. Whatever needed to be done for her family, she made sure it was accomplished. She cooked, sewed clothing, tended her vegetable and flower gardens and taught her children to walk in Jesus"� pathway. Survivors include: Her husband of 51 years, John Pickett; eleven children, Vanetta Bridges, Carole Hilley, Lorita Plasencia, Pamela Hurshman, Jerald Taylor, Joseph Plumlee, Susie Bufford, Alice Cory, Rebecca Khatar, Mary Mitchell, and Angela Donnelly; 29 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Alta was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters, and her first two husbands. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 31, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Bally Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Friday.
