Alice Lea (Linville) Tanner, age 73, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016. She was born November 11, 1942 In Maryville, MO, the daughter of Jack Ruddell Linville and Marjorie Mae (Euler) Linville. Her parents preceded her in death. Alice was a 1960 graduate of Skidmore High School.
On March 3, 1979 she and William E. Tanner were married.
Alice started her working career for Wonder Bread and later JC Penney in Maryville. She was co-owner of Hansels and Gretel in Maryville. Alice enjoyed sewing, crafting and doing volunteer work with her church family. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Nixa.
Survivors include: Her husband, Bill; her children, Sally Ann (Bud) Moore of LaPlata, MO, Patty L. Dearmont of Springfield, MO, Mary M. Marriott of Maryville, and Benjamin L. (Kandace) Dearmont of Colorado Springs, CO; step-children, Kenny (Debbie) Tanner of DeKalb, MO, Kelly (Jeff) Walls of Benton, LA, and Stacie (Juan) Ortega of St. Joseph, MO; her siblings, Larry (Barb) Linville of West Plains, MO, Peggy (Ron) Glassgow of Springfield, MO, Joyce Jones of Fort Collins, CO, and William "Bill" (Lynda) Linville, of Riverside CA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
According to Alice's wishes she is being cremated with no formal burial. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Nixa, with Pastor Gordon Dawley officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to First Baptist Church of Nixa for Least of These and Operation Christmas Child.
