Alice Etta Jones, age 85, of Ozark, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023. She was born November 27, 1937, in Highlandville, the daughter of Henry Franklin and Lena Mae (Essick) Rice. She was a lifelong resident of Ozark.
Alice was a long time bus driver for Ozark Schools starting in 1985, until retirement. She enjoyed her yard work, and crafting. She always looked forward to traveling with her family.
Survivors include: Her children, Debbie Duckworth and husband Marvin of Ozark, Vicky Jones of Texas, Cheryl Smith of Ozark, and Jimmy Jones, Jr. and wife Pam of Springfield; grandchildren, Randy, Shannon, Karessa, Cody, Trevor, Levi, Savannah, Ethan and Hope; great-grandchildren, Jailynn, Jackson, Lilliana, Titan, Adeline and Eden; a brother, Jerry Rice and wife Cindy of Ozark; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, grandsons Hunter and Jason, son-in-law Tim Smith, brothers James Rice, Robert Rice, and Junior Rice, and a sister, Imogene Reynolds.
Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 PM, Sunday, April 2, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A graveside funeral will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 3, in Vaughan-Oddfellow Cemetery, Ozark.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
