Alice Marie Hartman, age 95, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was born October 26, 1921 in St. Louis to Peter and Viola (Ammon) Koeln. Alice graduated from Cleveland High School, in St. Louis in 1939. She was united in marriage to Harold Hartman May 5, 1945.
Alice was an assistant manager at Ben Franklin stores for 15 years and later worked at Hallmark for 12 years. Alice loved attending and being a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1986. She enjoyed reading, gardening and making cookies for her family and friends. Alice also enjoyed embroidery, cross stitching and watching television. Most of all Alice loved her family and spending time with them. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include two sons Alan Hartman and his wife Kelly of Springfield, and Ron Hartman and his wife Donna of Nixa; one brother Bill Koeln and his wife Doris of St, Louis; five grandchildren Jennifer Hartman of Nixa, Travis Hartman and his wife Amy of Hanford, CA, Ron Hartman II of Springfield, Nathan Hartman and his wife Megan of Lexington, NC, and Emily Mayhan of Kansas City, MO; three great-grandchildren Maverick and Maxton Hartman of Lexington, NC and Elijah Hartman of Hanford, CA.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years Harold Wayne Hartman; and three brothers Norman, Harold and Marvin Koeln.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Springfield. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield.
